Hello world! It’s Me - Buddy!
May 21st, 2007Hi everyone. My name is Buddy and I am so glad to have a forever home with Jeff and his boys Jonathon and Caleb. I love them and I know they love me!
My name was not always Buddy. The people at HomelessPets.com named me Peyton. Jonathon was the first one to notice me Saturday at the HomelessPets.com event and since I was wearing an American flag bandana, he started calling me Patriot. But all day Saturday and part of Sunday they kept saying “here, Buddy, come here Buddy” so by Sunday they figured out they should call me Buddy. (I knew that on Saturday.)
So feel free to ask me questions. I’d love to hear from you!

What a precious idea, Jeff. So that Caleb understands what you are doing, I hope you let him hear himself on the playback.
Say Hi to Caleb and Jonathan.for me.
My cat Tiger says “MEOW.”

Looks like you’ve found your niche on the web, Buddy. Just remember that it’s your job to take your people ‘walkies’ every day so they get some exercise in between all that surfing!

I am a dog owner of many years standing and need to let you know that dogs deliberately eat grass to purge themselves, so get used to it, Buddy will not stop this activity.

Hi John
Thanks much. It’s funny, I had forgotten this in the last several years. Used to have a huskey as a kid who did the same thing. You and many other dog lovers have reminded me and it’s been a good thing.
Thanks again.

I read about Buddy yesterday in an Australian newspaper. It concerned me that Buddy’s website is offering advice from a dog and yet the owner does not realise that it is normal and common for all for dogs to eat grass and then throw it up. This is part of their self care - they clean out their stomachs this way. Any vet will tell you that. So if Buddy has stopped eating grass and being sick then there is something wrong with him. Our dog does it almost every day. If dogs do not have access to grass they can’t perform this natural function.
I am all in favour of people learning from dogs. That is why I am writing “The Canine Manual for Training Humans”. Consider yourself a bit better trained after reading this.

Thanks Chris!
You and a WHOLE LOT of other people have helped me with my learning curve on this - it’s been 30 years since I owned a dog.
Rest assured, Buddy has not stopped eating grass, and is doing quite well.
Let me know please when you have that ebook done and have an affiliate program - would like to consider having it here on this site.

I came from the internet, too! I was orinally from Virginia, then Fairfield CT now my home in Newtown. That web stuff is great, I sit on the futon when my mom is surfing. The big fat Tomatocat tries to push me off, but mommy doesn’t let him(he just scares me, so I would move if he showed me his claws). I love to sit on the couch when mommy is not home(and ESPECIALLY when she is home) and I watch the Yankees if she leaves that channel on(I’m named after Moose Mussina), otherwise I always watch the animal planet. I’m getting a visitor for a week, my newphew Sampson. He’s a Mastiff and weighs 160 pounds. I’m only 35 pounds, but I’m sure I can outrun him. I met him last week and he’s nice(and huge), but I have to decide if I’m going to share mommy and my house nicely. I also found out I’m going to get a new sister. She’s going to be really little, only about 10 pounds (half the size of that Tomatocat). She’s called a Cairn Terrier and her name is Sandy (her full name is Sandman Closer Mo, after Mariano Rivera). If I can find a way, I’ll send you a picture of myself. I’m quite the handsome fellow.
